1.   Create Specific Goals

Be specific when writing down your goals. Instead of writing ‘I want to be debt-free,’ write down ‘I will pay off my $100,000 business debt by the end of this year.’

2.   Measurable Goals and achievements

Create a system that will let you measure the level of achieving your goal. Knowing that you are halfway through or at a certain percentage of completion will give a sense of accomplishment and renewed motivation.

3.   Goals should be Attainable

It is good to aim for the best, but it is not an effective goal setting practice. Do not aim for a corporate building if it will kill the financial balance of your business. Instead, you can aim to be able rent affordable spaces and save a portion of the earnings for your future building.

4.   Consider only Realistic Goals

Goals are achieved faster if you already live the results. Act, think, and dress as if you are the successful person you aim to be. The air of success will radiate from you and will influence your behaviour and that of the people around you, boosting your psyche.

8.   Find a Good Model

Look for goal setting practices that worked. Read articles, books, and stories about success and successful people. Talk to successful people and learn how they did it.

9.   Positive Affirmation

Constant and vocal affirmation of what you can accomplish. There is nothing wrong about telling yourself ‘I can close three deals today,’ or ‘I will be able to decide who to hire by noon.’ Affirmations are great confidence boosters.

10.   Focus on the Performance, not on the Outcome

How far are you to completing your goals? Tracking your progress is recognising work already done.
